Re: REPR Groups

Just curious... what's the barrel contour like on a 18" (looks like a 16" or did you cut it down)? I got a 20" REPR and she's a tank under the rails.

I've noticed that my groups have slimmed down quite a bit since I put 400 rds down range (solid MOA rifle and I'm happy with that).

Nice setup

Re: REPR Groups

It started life as a 16" then the factory changed the bbl out to an 18" for me, free of charge I might add, the 18" bbl likes a heavy bullet 173grn vs the 168 FGMM, it loves the M118, with the FGMM I was doing an MOA, with the M118 it is solid 1/2 MOA, also I am using a Giselle 2 stage adjustable set to 1 1/4#, the contour is minimal, really not heavy at all.

Frickin' great. It's the perfect length to run a AAC scar miter mount on. Thanks a ton brother, my 18" repr will be done next tuesday and this is a great thing to see.

EDIT: Are you sure that's the 18"? I'm not trying to poke holes or accuse, but the picture a LWRC representative posted makes it look like yours is 16"...

That pic looks like from top to bottom
22 or 24
20
18
16 </div></div>

Sorry I should've been more clear.

The picture in order is

20"
18"
16"
12.7"

that rifle is extremely sexy. My financial advisor is allowing me to get one when I come home from the rock-box. How do you like the PWS muzzle brake? I take it you have no feeding issues like some people had in earlier serial numbers? I'm an LWRC fan through-and-through, their customer service has been nothing but excellent to me. Also, how well do the Pmags fit in the mag well? Some people say they are a bit loose, other's don't. I just want to know a bit more from you before I invest $4500 for a rifle and optics.

Re: REPR Groups

No problem, yes it is an 18", bbl is marked, also I have no issues, the feeding problems were fixed, also the Pmag issues were addressed, my pmags fit well, I have zero issues, also the PWC break cuts the recoil down considerably, I owned high end AR10's, POF's, this rifle is my favorite!

Here is another picture, maybe I had a bad angle?

Agreed. His rifle didn't print well with Federal Gold Match ammo. In fact all the primers were flattend and one actually blew out

There was a 100% difference in accuracy using the military M118 ammo.

I only have blown up soda cans @ 200 and 300 , more fun to me, I look at it this way, if I can hit a soda can @ 300 and 600 good enough for me, BTW I can do it effortlessly with this setup

Great looking gun, and good shooting, but am I looking at the target wrong somehow? I think that version of the Birchwood Casey target is 3" accross and that your groups are in the .75-1.1" inch range.

Re: REPR Groups

I was measuring the first 3 shots, the rest I was having fun with, I did not officially measure it, 3 rounds touching is not bad with a gas gun!

Bowslngr: BTW, don't shoot those bullets if you like your hands and face, I would not even thought to ask let alone do it.

Yeah -- great results for anything that isn't handloaded. Nice shooting.

Re: REPR Groups

Howdy spiralseal; just a question concerning your comments about Bowslngr's bullets. Are you referring specifcally to the M118 173 grain only? I use the newer M118 sbthp 175 grain with my gasguns and they love them. Tried the FGMM 168/175 and neither printed as well as the M118. If there is something I'm uninformed about, please enlighten me. Especially before I buy a REPR and shoot the same rounds.

That being said, my AI loves the FGMM 168's.
Thank you for any knowledge you can pass along,
Tim.

Re: REPR Groups

Somebody needs to start a REPR thread... curious to see how others have thiers set up. I'll put mine up as soon as it's complete (waiting on my USO SN3 1.8-10x37 mil/mil)

Tim, The ammo in question was from another topic, I think he wanted to run .243 in a .260,(http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...399#Post1996399) but my REPR LOVES the heavy stuff, I have 3000 rounds of .173 M118, 1971-72 lots, still in ammo cans and crates, your REPR should preform great with the M118 175

Re: REPR Groups

LWRCI board has some recommendations.

Best I've gotten was .7-.8 out of American Ballistics 175. Black Hills 175s shot above 1. FGMM was .8-1. I'm going to try Corbons and a few others before going to custom ammo.

I think the barrel has the accuracy potential, but that the set-up doesn't like a large bullet jump to the lands.
