Rifle Scopes Reptilia mount with a 50mm objective

Was looking at the Arisaka offset mounts and they look nice but seem like they add quite a bit of width to the rifle. The reptilia is listed as up to a 33mm objective. Sitting at 12 o'clock on top the front ring of my Bobro mount it's marginal with the dot being visible but only really being able to use the top half of the window.

It's hard to tell from the pics if it will sit any higher on the reptilia mount. The limiting factor seems to be the elevation turret and not the bell. Seems like it would work at 1:30 or maybe even 4:30 but it's hard to tell without the mount in hand.

It works for me on my NF NX8 4-32x50. No issues seeing through my RMR’s glass. I have used the Reptilia on a Burris XTR3 3-18x50 and S&B 3-20x50 with no issues as well. Only scope the RMR was partially obstructed with was a Kahles k318i, and it was because of the top parallax ring is on top with elevation turret and it sticks out. I could still see the red dot, but the lower window housing was partially obstructed.

Thanks. Looks like 45 is the way to go. Playing around with it it seems like 12 o'clock is more of a chin weld anyway and seems awkward vrs rolling it on my cheek for 45.

I have an Reptilla RMR mount on a Vortex LHT SFP 3-15 mounted at 12:00.

I ended up picking Reptilla's larger riser, and then removing material until the base of the RD lens was level with the turret top.

I'm biased towards the 12:00 position.

I find it convenient for quicker and closer targets.

I also find it to be a valuable reference when aligning the magnified optic at distance, using naked-eye references. I do not have trouble dropping down into the magnified optic without disrupting the overall rifle alignment.

Buying both the mount and the riser, then fitting it to your turret height took some loot and time. That said, I am satisfied with the results.

That's actually the scope I'm mounting it to. Is 12 o'clock a no go without the riser then? It doesn't look like they make a riser for the delta point. My only experience with offsets is with an acog and that's just a tiny rotation on my cheek to get the dot so I figure with whatever angle I mout this one there will be a bit of a learning curve. Seems even at 45 I have to slide my cheek up on the stock.

It was necessary to use the riser to clear the elevation turret at 12:00.

I should have asked your application.

Most of my builds are biased towards longer range precision.

The guys that are set up for 2-gun/3-gun seem to like the offset that runs at the same plane as the magnified optic, so it really is a matter of just canting the gun in the pocket.

I'm running the small objective on the LHT (42mm) in a low mount (1.125 Nightforce Unimount). This lands the RD optic about about 2.25" above the rail, in the neighborhood of the Unity Fast mount. At that height, it works for me as a 'traditional' RD, and as a reference point for getting targets into the FOV of my magnified optic when I can't see them with my naked eye.

Shooting steel so probably closer to 3 gun than precision. Max range is about 400 unless I want to drive a long ways. It's on a 20" lw 556 gas gun. Had an acog/dot on it but moved that to my 16 so I'm trying out new setups for it. I have in mind to get back into hunting at some point so I've been working on my standing game.

Tried the lpvo thing but the eyebox on high magnification sucks. The lht on 6-8 is very forgiving but figured I'd want a dot for close range. I do target shoot off a bipod occasionally but the functionality of the dot isn't important in those circumstances.

Either config would work then.

If I wasn't running at 12:00, I would be biased to running my red dot offset on the same plane as my magnified optic.

I have a few hundred rounds on carbine on the second config (Arisaka, etc.) and I find it to be very intuitive and easy to align the dot to the target from all positions other than prone.

How bulky is the Arisaka in real life? I'd prefer the dot on the same plane but it looks like it sticks out a lot in the pictures. I carry that rifle hiking quite a bit and I worry the dot will take a beating. I use a vtac 2 point so the rifle is basically muzzle down in my right armpit. Anything on the outside (right side) of the rifle is vulnerable especially when I'm ducking through brush and pushing it out of the way with my right hand.

In this pic I'm assuming the one tucked up closer to the scope is the 35°? That seems like it might be an option if it will still see past the objective. The more I think about it I'm probably better off with a t2 vrs the deltapoint. The deltapoints will ultimately end up on pistols so it would be stupid to break one on my rifle.

This is the acog setup that I moved to a different rifle. It causes a bit of shadow in the bottom right of the acog but I love the thin profile and acquiring the dot with just a slight rotation. I know I'm going to have to compromise with the bigger objective but I'm trying to get as close to that as possible.

I wouldn't describe it as bulky, but that's my impression from the flat range.

I don't have any experience hiking with it in field conditions.

Personally, it wouldn't hold me back.
