Hi all I just wanted to get some feedback on my new .260 build. Any tips or advise is greatly appricated.

Here is what I ordered as of 1-8-10

Surgeon RSR repeater w/ Surgeon bottom metal and mag system coated w/ their Creacoat tan + their scope base.

Krieger 26" 1:8 5r remington varmint contour fluted. They will chamber and headspace on the Surgeon action. W/ surefire break installed by Krieger

H-S Percision pst012, same stock as the 700p as I like the profile

Trigger most likley jewell

Glass Leupold mk 4 6.5-20tmr

Final assembly by me.

If anyone as any suggestions please let me know. I have a 20 week lead time on the barrel alone. I plan on shooting only the 139g+ stuff. I'm open to all suggestions and advise.

Thanks

Laz

Re: Request Feedback on new .260 Build

I would opt for a Manners stock. But thats me.

I had basically same rig put together in 6.5x47L I used a surgeon action and a Lilja 3r 1 in 8 twist.......the thing shoots bug holes with 130 bergers.....so I am a little Partial to the 6.5x47 L but .260 will give you more power with 139's

I agree. The only week link I see in that plan is the stock. Manners or Mac would be a step up. But each to his own. Also depends on intended use. I like the caliber. I'm sure you have researched the caliber and saw the discussions on the Remington brass being soft. I prefer to use resized Winchester 7-08 brass, but that's just me.

Thanks for the imput. The main reason I chose that stock over a MAC or Manners is that I already have a 700p in .223/308/300 and I have them all set up the same. I wanted to do the same with this one as well.
