Rifle Scopes Reticle change on a Nightforce?

Anyone here had this done recently?

Just got a great deal on a NXS 5.5-22X50 that had never been mounted. Only problem is I'm not to hot on the reticle it currently has (NP-2DD). I'd like to have it changed to a NP-R1 but am curious how much they are currently charging for a reticle swap.

I checked Nightforce's web site, but all I could find is that it looks like at least this fall before I can get it done.

Any advice or input?

i emailed them this exact question 3 weks ago, they took about 2 weeks to respond and they pretty much said tough luck.. They are so busy with Gov contracts yadda yadda, they dont have the resources to take care of the little guy at the moment. They are not doing conversions until around Sept 1...

There are 8 of us using that reticial and loving it. I was not sure at first, but once you start using it I think you will like it more. Just ordered three more from Euro optics. That's all they had. I need two more. I will buy if from you, if you decide you don't like it.

I agree with the above posts. I called Nightforce last week to ask this same question, left a message, and they called me back later the same day. SFP reticle changes are $250+return shipping, but he said they are asking people not to send in their scopes until September. I should have asked if they will put you on the list, hold your place in line, and send it in when you get closer to the top, but I didn't think of that until the moment I hung up.

I had the same dilemma a while back an ended up just reselling the scope rather then going threw the hassel of sending it back to NF.

There are plenty of used NF scopes in the sale adds here, so i'm sure you can find what you want and probably save some $ at the same time.

Thanks for the replies.

I wouldn't have bought it since it's not the exact reticle I'm looking for, but I've been trying to buy one from the 'optics for sale' adds here, but keep coming up short. There's been some great deals here, but lady luck hasn't been on my side and I'm always a bit late to the party it seems.

I'll take a good look at, and consider the NP-2DD reticle before I send it off, or decide to sell it. Looks like I've got plenty of time to look it over if NF isn't taking any until September anyway.

For what type of shooting are you using the scope? I use an Np-2DD for targets and love it, and I could imagine that I could really learn to like it for hunting too.

If you are looking for a ranging reticle that's another story, but for that I've got a LRF.

I'd give that reticle a chance. In these tough times might as well put some use to it before jumping on the bandwagon! If it works, roll with it!

Yeah, for the price of a change and the wait, I'll most definitely give it a fair shake. Hopefully I'll like it, it's just that I've wanted a NF for a long time & just want to make sure I'm satisfied after finally throwing down the cash for one.
