I would like to present you the new multipurpose knife “ranger” from the German Knife Manufacturer Eickhorn. For me it´s a very beautiful and handsome knife, the grip is not too big so that it lays very comfortable in my hands. The grip itself is structured and will give you enough grip and hold for handle it with gloves or wet hands.
The knife has a tantoblade which is not so steep like other tantos are. I like that pretty much because it looks more fluent. The blade is made out of N695 Böhler steel, this kind of steel is also used fort he products of Extrema Ratio, so it is high quality steel. The highlight about the blade is the serrated part in the front of the blade with sheaths behind it. The advantage about it is that when you want to cut a rope or something else by low light condition for example, you just have to bring the knife on and pull it and you´ll have the whole serrated part and a part of the sheaths blade. Not like with regular knifes where the serrated part is at the end of the blade, when you want to cut a rope you´ll just have a little part of the serrated blade. Another plus on this knifes blade is the cableskinner between grip and blade and a windowbreaker at the end of the grip.
What I don´t like so much is the Kydexsheath that comes with the knife. The reason for it is, when you pull the knife out and stick it back in a couple of times you´ll have some grit on the blade from the kydex, it ain´t dramatic but Idon´t like it so much, so I hope that there will come a codursheath or something similar to it.
Result: For me it´s a pretty nice and successful construction with good qualities and made out of good materials. I´ll see after the field test how it works after it, and leave some feedback when passed.
