I have been playing around with the RIBZ method of zeroing my AR. While it is very handy I always forget where my zero's are so I made these little cheat sheets to laminate or tape to the rifle.

I made one for the fixed handle (8/3) and removable sight (6/3).

The 400 and 500 are not filled in because of the variations between meters and yards at that distance. So you will have to confirm your own dope.

Download here:

6/3 RIBZ

8/3 RIBZ

Let me know if I can improve on these in anyway!

This is for a 20" AR shooting NATO 5.56mm 55gn and pretty close to the 62gn ammo, but it can also be made to work with a 16" the clicks will be off slightly. If there is a specific ammo combo you would like to see, give me the dope and I'll make a new sheet.

Re: RIBZ Cheat Sheets

I don't think many around here are using iron sights with 2+ moa ammo for close range precision shooting, and that is the reason for the lack of responses. Others (myself included) are using Aimpoints or similar sights for the close work anyhow, but I do use the irons from time to time just to stay sharp with them.

It's a bit of a stretch for me to concern myself with making a sight adjustment shooting inside 100yds for my application. I'm going for rapid hits on a torso silhouette during quals at those distances, not dot drills. I don't care if there's a 1" POI shift from 100 to 50yds when I'm doing controlled pairs from the kneeling or standing. Going long distance, well we all know 6/3 for 300yds, 4 for 400yds and so on.

In actual application in the field at those distances, I'm much more concerned with properly identifying a threat and engaging as necessary than I am with worrying about what part of the sternum the round is going through.

Maybe someone here is limited on distance for their home range and have a use for these, but myself and most shooters I know do not.

Re: RIBZ Cheat Sheets

I agree with Redmans thoughts. Most folks on the hide are shooting at longer ranges for precsion. Inside of 100 yards most guys seem to be more than ok with hitting 1moa+ and getting center mass torso hits.

Good work compiling the info.
