Kicking Ass Somewhere
Gonna ride a Enduro race at Mataor Tx, then off to the NM BDR, will get up to southern Colorado then run back south on the Continental divide route, to Texas and across through El Paso and through Big Bend. Gonna be epic fall ride, you all are welcome to join, its just me and maybe one other, a badass Pro Rider. Turn Off the TV, tell wife you are going for a ride and will be home in a few weeks, put dog tags on and join us. This is the most stress relieving activity you can do. Check out the ride map below, let me know if you want to join, w will be sleeping on the spot where we get tired, up at sun up or before and bed down at 2100 - 2300, sleep on trail next to bike, real adventure riding. Dont let your life slip away without riding our great country, just meeting the people we have and seeing our country will rejuvenate you..

NIce time of year to visit the Bend. Last time I was there I spent a few days in July...very hot, then crossed at Ojinaga and headed for the Guaeleguetza in Oaxaca, then on to Guatamala. Have a blast.

Did that in 2008... but not off road ;-)

Well, not much!

I did find a shipper to get my bike off Iceland, though! So next year... Iceland and the TransLabrador highway!

That ride sounds awesome, Jerry!

Cheers,

Sirhr

Which Ktm are you sporting these days? I’ve been thinking about a 500 and couldn’t remember if you had one or not.

Ive got a 250sxf for the tight woods, but was thinking about something I could ride down the road a bit further and still ride in the dirt. Thinking 500 or 690 but also thought about a Xr650l on a diet.

C'mon you bunch of Pussies. I mean hell, who 'doesn't' wanna wake up next to ArmyJerry for a few short weeks? lmfao

You go Brother, and take some pics for us would ya? You're an animal Jerry, in a good way of course. ;)

Be safe, have a helluva time, and report back in one piece..........

I am running the 690 on this ride, I have a 1290 and a 500 exc too but taking the 690 to see how it does. Next month I will be doing a 2 day enduro race out in West Texas, going to run the 500 on that one. I am keeping an eye out for a 300 two strokes I can use as a project bike for the tight stuff here in Sam Houston Forest, til I find one I will be running the 500 on tight single track. If you want one bike for enduro/adventure (weeklong) riding the 690 is about 60/40 road bias, the 500 is 25/75 road bias a bit too powerful/geared high for tight single track but perfect for extreme long distance enduro, and I mean extreme.

Funny 1J04, but I gotta tell you that if you die without seeing our country on two wheels you only lived half a life and never really got to know our people or our country. Don’t be that guy crying on your death bed with shit still on the bucket list, that would be a pathetic death and even more of a pathetic life not lived.:D:D:p

I hear ya man. You sound just like me when talking about Scuba Diving. But I'll tell ya a little secret. I grew up riding. My Step Dad raced Motocross. I raced a tad in High School but mostly just beat the crap outta my Hodaka Wombat while everyone else was running CR's, YZ's, KX's(?). He raised me from the 2nd grade on and got me a Bonanza at that time. He and Mom went to the road after MX and joined the Retreads XL+ on their GL1000 all dressed out. Loved it all at the time. Camping out in Hangtown in the 60's during the MX season was probably thee single best experience I've ever had, and I've had a few. I've always played with the idea of getting back on two wheels but I don't see it happening. Meh, all good.

You got great passion for the sport and that's damn good for the sport in of it's self. And ya got great toys ya lucky bastard. Now before you go championing for the good of the sport you're gonna have to take some obedience training courses or something before you become a full blown ambassador to the sport. Everyone can't be a cocksucker in certain circles. ;)

Seriously, have a great time man. And that's a pretty nice weekend getaway place you have in the background there. :p

Damn, it would be almost worth learning to ride just to do one of these trips with you. We could see how many local jails we could check off our list as fireside Army vs Marines shit talk devolved into violence, then chuckle about it until the next time.

Have a safe trip man, we don't need you having a Gary Busey and coming back all polite and restrained and shit.
