Me: Ruger Precision Rifle in 6 Creed. It shoot fine, but it is too heavy for me to bother shooting at my local (short) range and I rarely have time to drive to the nearest 500 yard range. I don't want to go through the hassle of selling it either. So it sits in my safe while I take my Savage 6ARC to the shorter range any time I get some time off.

Not that I don’t like it, but I’m not 100% happy with it either. It’s my custom 260. Rem. It was my first custom. I wanted at the time a defiance so bad, but it saved me 300-450 dollars going for a stiller instead. In the grand scheme of things 400 dollars on a 5-6k build was nothing and I should of gotten what I wanted from the start. I still own it, and it shoots litterally unbelievable but I never can get past it’s just not what I wanted lol.

From that moment on I firmly believe in buy once, cry once mentality. If what you want is a ruger American predator in 223 and all they have is 204 you won’t be happy. If you are debating between an origin and a tl3 just get the tl3! You’ll always wonder what if? Why didn’t i? Should I just sell it?

They advertise 1 MOA. Yeah, well, after trying dozens of 7mm bullets, several powders and different primers, I can tell you it is that. A 1 MOA rifle. If you let the barrel cool for at least 10 minutes after every shot, otherwise it's only a 2 MOA rifle. It is the most inconsistent rifle I own.
I have rifles that are nearly 100 years old that are more accurate.
I'd sell it but I just can't bring myself to sell such a piece of shit to anyone.
I had a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry 2 and it was also a piece of shit compared to any of the other 9 45ACP's I have.

Tikka T3x in 300 WM, it is the older model with the 1 in 11 twist. I cant shoot the heavy bullets out of it so its got all the kick with none of the long range benefits for hunting that I initially wanted. It was my mistake in buying it. Ended up shooting hammer hunter 160's out of it at 3430 so its got 1500 foot pounds and a speed of 2051 to 650 yards. My 7 Rem Mag shoots about the same out to 650.

Savage Model 12 Varminter Low Profile in 204. I bought it in college and put it in a boyds thumbhole pepper laminate stock. I thought it was the coolest rifle back when I had no money and knew zero about rifles. It shoots really good and is killer on prairie dogs but compared to my other rifles it's just kinda blah and sits in the back of my safe. It's still a good rifle so I'll hold onto it, buy it doesn't get much attention anymore.

The f5 can canon. The golf ball barrel makes it worth the fun, but I cant get a can more than 40 feet, so I only go through about 1k blanks a year.
(It's for teaching kids gun safety, and that shooting is fun).

I've got a very late war Type 99. It's just one of those things that is sort of collectible but not well executed at all (obviously), not common for components, fixed sights, etc... And I'm not really into the Japanese stuff. Impulse purchase from a few years back. I think I fired 1 round like 7 years ago and it's sat on the wall ever since.

Reliable as the day is long with factory mags.
On it's best day it shoots minute of barn.
Worth too damn much with that stock to sell....last I heard the stocks alone are going in the 800++ region.

It shoots great, trigger is nice and bolt is buttery smooth, but at the end of the day I can’t believe I dumped a ton of money and time into an axis. It feels wrong sitting in my safe next to a defiance custom build that cost roughly the same.

The ones I have listed in the PX. The Archmides is nice but the whole combo is unwieldy. The Spikes 6.5G was fun to build but is neither fish nor fowl as far as I'm concerned. And the Pedersoli is a good target gun but not great for field use.

Also, a semi-sporterized 1903 Springfield I just picked up. It's okay but it's rough and I don't feel like going through the hassle of fixing it up.

I also have a Sporterized K98 in .22-250. I like but really only bought it because of the Parker Hale stock. What I really want though is a build on a McMillan McHale stock.

I did the exact same thing except I used a wildcat that was short and couldn’t get the ejection right on it. Cause of the short case. Bought a bighorn and built that and threw a xcaliber 223 barrel on the axis and had all kinds of issues setting off cci450 primers so went to 400s and started to poke holes through them I gave up and sold the gun but my build on the axis was oryx chassis, rifle basix trigger, glades armory bolt body and handle and the xcaliber barrel. I tried all kinds of different mods to help the bolt and firing pin situation and ended up throwing factory bolt body back in it and then it worked 80% of the time.

My howa 300wm, it's in the shitty, rubbery hogue stock for now with an equally shitty cheap bipod, garbage scope, the trigger is heavy as hell- getting a 1.5lb gunbloke spring for it, may need to go to 2lb for hunting safety, but we'll see. I have a 308 and 223 on the way so I can mix and match.
Hoping the 300wm will be easier to shoot well with some tweaking.
Managed around 1-1.5moa avg with cheap nasty ppu 150gn and me having never fired a 30cal magnum before.

I also ended up hating my cz457 mtr, nothing really wrong with it other than the fact that my vudoo spoilt me and Theresa's no going back haha

It’s a nice rifle, but a 14 twist barrel, which won’t even shoot 85g bullets worth a shit.

And it kicks like a fucking mule.

I bought it for my boy to whack deer, but minute of pie plate just doesn’t cut it.

I then bought him a Henry 30-30. I hate that gun too, but he likes it so it stays around.

I really like my rifles, probably if I had to pick my least favorite, my Tikka tac a1, it’s a great rifle, but doesn’t fit me like my Sako, 94, JPs, it’s barrel is a little slow, now I doubt I’ll sell it, and I still like shooting it plenty

Lowest performance would be my Remington 597LSS in 22WMR with a Harris and a Nikon scope, it’s very accurate to a couple hundred yards, and is kinda like a laser beam out to 150, punched perfect little holes in all sorts of metal junk I put out in the gravel pit, it was also my first firearm so it ain’t going anywhere

Post covid hysteria I would plink with my 3030, would rock steel as far as one shoots a 3030, cycling a new round and doing a fast shot on a transitional target made my inner John Wayne happy!

Depends on the range, the 94 is super light, points very fast, and for like 150yrds or so it’s lights out

Plus proof of the pudding, 3030 has taken tons more deer, also got a 308

I had to think for a minute to decide which one was my least favorite rifle. I’d have to say it’s my 10-22. A standard barrel in a Houge overmolded stock for a poor man’s free float, Simmons Whitetail Classic scope and box stock otherwise. The one time that it was fun was during a Hunter Education class the original sear gave up the ghost and it went full re****. . That got an ASAP trip to the gunsmith. (But was fun).

it just doesnt do much for me otherwise , but is good for introducing others the different action types. Given the choice, my go to rimfires are a Browning T-bolt or Marlin 39 (not an A). Accurate and unique.

Probably a 742 I got as a present, the rifle is worthless in just about every aspect, except sentimental value, as my parents probabaly took out a second mortgage and sold some lesser important organs to pay for it, (graduation/18 b-day present).

If you’d open the criteria up to “guns”- I bought a browning 725 field feather (12g) that to this day I don’t know why I still have it….. nice gun in all, just prefer the love of a 20gauge.

Sako AV in 338 win mag. My dad got it for me when I turned 16 and got himself one as well. Tried every factory ammo, every bullet, powder load, etc. for a solid year to get them to shoot. Yes, both of them were terrible. Wouldn’t be comfortable shooting a deer at 100 yards terrible. We looked up the serial numbers and found they were manufactured within 6 months of each other. Maybe had some QC issues at the time. But they are still in the safe because they came from my dad.

CZ 550 American in .243. CZ says it has a 10 twist barrel but it won't stabilize 100 gr bullets. It's a pig for a sporter in terms of weight at that.

Shaen from https://shaenrifles.com/ has a theory that they don't get the barrels tight enough from the factory. Also the mag box binds in weird ways and they need to be bedded. Lotsa info on rokslide and campfire.

Montana's, etc, can be made to be excellent shooters, but a rebarrel, bed job, and a couple other small tweaks are necessary in many cases.

IMO it's still worth it in the end as the whole package is pretty much unattainable from a custom.

M1A scout that I shopped around for months to find an FDE Vltor stock for that wasn’t cracked. I shot that alongside an AR10 at the time. Loved the look of the M1A but just found it heavy and the maintenance tedious compared to the AR. Sold it to my buddy so I can still shoot it whenever I want. Don’t miss it honestly.

That sucks to hear. I had a Pro Raptor 2 many moons ago, and it would eat anything I fed it. One run I truly wish I hadn’t sold.
