Rigid Case or Rifle bag on the Range?

I have to custom rifles with AICS AXMC Chassis. They are heavy and stored in Pelican Cases which I take to the range on my backseat. It is not the easier thing to carry and it's add way more weight, but it is plug and play and very organized.

When you go to the range, do you prefer the rigid case or a rifle bag as Voodoo and similars?

A rifle bag that also doubles as a shooting mat.

Rigid case for flying but a soft case for range and match trips (tactical tailor, eberlestock, savior equipment).

I use a hard Pelican case but i dont have to haul my rifle around at the matches I currently shoot

I second the elmuzzlebreak post. If your not flying with your rifle no need for a hardcase . It's just a pain in the ass . The savior bags are really nice and affordable cases . I would them a look for sure.

Put a scope cover on (and crown cover if you don’t have a muzzle device attached) then just carry your rifle in hand and put your range essentials in a small pack.

Guitar cases with ghey stickers or Roland or Yamaha branded keyboard cases.
My neighbours think I’m very musical : ) . Plausible cover as I have a small
Turbosound PA system that gets hired out occasionally.

If I had a nice place in the country it would be Pelicans or similar, or soft cases for
short hops.

If it's in my possession = bag
If it's not in my possession = rigid and lockable case

Leave it in a bag case and put that in a hard case with the foam pulled out.
That way you can have it secure and leave the boat anchor in your truck and just pull the bag out to the line.

So, what soft cases are you guys using to carry your rifles?

I struggle to find soft cases that my rifles will fit into, short of AR style cases.

I struggle to find soft cases that my rifles will fit into, short of AR style cases.

The only thing you’ll really find for long guns (scopes rifles) are either those shitty Walmart hunter soft zippered cases or a drag bag/shooting may hybrid.

Honestly though, if someone’s rifle needs more than a scope and crown cover while being transported to the range in your vehicle, it might be time to upgrade the stock/base/rings/glass.
