I have a kimber government 82 on the way and am wanting a multi purpose scope without breaking the bank. I intend to use the rifle small game hunting and as a target trainer to my 308.
Since I am planning on using this hunting I need to be able to focus and use the reticle with 20 yards.
For target shooting I intend on taking this setup out to as far as possible. If I can take it out to 300-350 I intend to. So I will need enough adjustment as possible, reliably.

I was planning on getting an NF 2.5-10 but have decided not to spend soo much… at least not right now!

Other scopes I am now considering are the Super Sniper fixed 6x or the 3-9, I'm just not sure how close you can usably focus with these scopes. I see some people are using Hawk Sidewinders, I have zero experience with these scopes. Also was looking at a leupold mark ar but I imagine the elevation is very limited on these scopes.

FFP is of NO importance to me, I've owned them and personally do nothing for me. I would prefer paralax adjustment but could live without it.

Thanks guys any guidance will be great!

Re: Rimfire scope

I have a nightforce 2-10 on my new ruger but have not been to the range yet with it. I have a leupold 3-9efr on another .22 but do not have the base to take it to that yardage,it does have ao. The wind is blowing 20-30 most days this spring so it's put a dent in my .22 time. The leo is good glass for the price,it's hard to beat the nf. good luck and let us know what you decide on

Re: Rimfire scope

If you are planning on using it as a 22 trainer, you have several options. I have a couple of weaver 3-10x MIL/MIL (midwayusa $299) for some 1022 tactical builds and a 3-9x Mark AR scope on a carry rifle. The lower power settings will work fine at 25y (3-4x).

If you are planning to use it for target shooting, you may want to consider a 4-16 or 6-20. Natchez has some of the Nitrex TR one made by weaver in stock. They are $189/$199 with a fine duplex (http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=WE94580&src=tpSlrCatHm.

I contacted weaver about the glass on Nitrex TR one. They said the glass is the same as the grand slam weaver scopes.
