Rifle Scopes Ring and Base ?

Looking for rings and bases for a savage 110 7mag. This will be for hunting only with ocassional paper punching. I have a heavy barrel with a muzzle brake so I wouldn't think recoil would be too bad on the scope. I would like to go 20 moa but am not looking to break the bank. I was thinking about tps rings but really can't decide on a base.

Weaver makes a 20MOA base that sells for about $30. I've seen them used on a few budget builds with good results.

If I spend the money to get the tps rings would I be defeating the purpose with this rail. Or should I just get the Weaver 6 hole rings also?

The TPS rings should be fine. I have no experience with Weaver rings so I can't comment on their quality.

Look at the Warne products. I am running a couple of there products and have never had an issue with them at all. One of my setups is almost exactly the same as yours.

I think I have settled on the Talley 20 moa rail. Should I get the high TPS rings? I have a Vortex 6.5-20x50 that is going in these. I have never used a picatinny rail before and am not sure how much height it will add.

Check out the sticky at the top of the forum, "ring height info". I doubt you need high rings.
