First off let me thank everyone for the great info I've been reading through on the forum. I recently picked up an FNH A3G and just ordered S&B PMII 5-25x56 but I still need to figure out scope rings. I've been having a hard time finding old threads/info on popular rings. It looks like I could go with a once piece like on did on my SCAR17 but the A3G comes with a 20MOA rail. Being a .308 I really don't think I would need any more MOA built into a mount. Thoughts? What suggestions do you have for scope rings?

Thanks for your help in advance.

You don't need a one piece mount for that purpose.

There are lots of makers of high quality rings, but one I would particularly recommend is American Rifle Company. Their M10 rings are a different design than any others I've seen. They mount up very easily, level very easily, and are supposed to cause less stress on the scope tube than other designs. I'm currently using a set of M10s and a set of their earlier M3s and am completely happy with both.

Pricey, but can't beat Suphr, which comes with built in level, and would add Aadmount scope covers, so when the Butler Creek covers that came with the scope break, you'll be set. Have fun a be safe. Much more fun and accurate than a Scar.

Seeking, NF, Badger and Spuhr are all excellent rings and just a matter of personal preference. Get the lowest rings that will provide clearance on the objective end. I would go with a 20 MOA rail for the .308.

One piece mount will mount that too high on a bolt gun. Get a set of 1" height 34mm rings and you will be all set. Look at Seekins Precision. Seekins Precision Work great and not overly expensive.

Like Rob said, make sure you get the 1" height Seekins rings if you go that route. I bought the lows, and they didn't allow clearance for the erector assembly and my pic rail.

I'd also look at the Spuhr rings, not the one piece mount. They are extremely well made, and sit just low enough.

Good scope, got it on trg 22 and 42, badger rings but cannot remember size. I always go with extra moa on base (badger, 35 moa); was helpful on a few occasions.

If you want to go with separate rings then do yourself a favor and look at the APA's rings. I have a few sets and will use nothing else from now on. They are made as precise as any out there with the most quality materials, but where they rise above is in the sleek design. They have no cross bolt like most others and are not as big in OD as the Seekins. I love em!

Even if adjustable like the AI AX?

When would a one piece mount like Spuhr have come in handy?

If you want to jack up the stock comb to get up to the mount then it would work. You would have to see if it's comfortable to get behind though after raising it up.
