Rifle Scopes Rings and bases, So many choices!

I'm pretty set on a Savage 10 PC and now I need to decide on rings and a base. I like the idea of a steel base and EGW seems to be a popular choice around here. Rings are a bit harder to decide on. I'm thinking Seekins, but I'm open to popular opinion. I do believe I'll be needing low rings. I'd like to keep it around $200 for the base and rings.
As for the scope, I'm thinking Super Sniper. I just can't decide between the12x or the 16x. As for now, 99% of my shooting will be 200 yard max. So what's the concesius? I value the hides experience, you've already shown me the way to Atlas and Triad.

I'm partial to Seekins Precision products. I have their rings on my S&B and if I hadn't already bout a NF canted base, I'd buy one of them too!

Top notch quality, company, and customer service (ask me how I know). Plus if you look around I bet you can get the combo for the price you're looking for. SWFA has the base ($95) and rings ($119) in stock from what it looks like.

I'm in the same boat. It seems like Badger is the most popular if price isn't an issue. However, Seekins' price point is attractive. However, I just realized that Seekins (the base at least) isn't steel. But is steel really that important?

The folks I shoot around, alot of them use Badger and Seekins. They use others as well. Both are good quality, brick shit house, products. I started with Badger Ordance Rings and bases. So I stay with Badger.

Steel vs. aluminum, popular argument. I am sure Badger's are kick ass; however, my Seekins base and rings have been as solid as can be. The rings don't lose tension and the base took to bedding very well.

You ought to take a long hard look at the Warne rings. I've got the fixed rings on 2 rifles over EGW bases and you could use them for a carry handle! The 300 RUM has 1500+ rds on the first barrel and another 200+ rds. on this barrel and no issues. The $40 or so price tag is nice too..

ARC M-10's are excellent rings. I had a pair on a Vortex Razor that I recently parted with. Unfortunately the rings were 35mm and wouldn't work with my Nightforce so they had to go as well. I got a good deal with my new scope so I went with a pair of NF rings as well.

IMO, Badger steel bases are the best on the market. Very well made and strong as shit. Seekins, Badger, NF, ARC, USO, EGW Tactical, V-Tac, Sphur, Leupy MK 4's are all top notch rings. TPS if you're on a budget. I usually prefer rings without the .5" nut sticking out the side but my new NF's are growing on me. Seekin's and ARC would be my top two choices otherwise. Keep your eye out in the classifieds for good deals on used rings, just don't buy any that have been lapped.

In my opinion the difference between Seekins and Badger is

1. Weight (It may matter or may not depends on the rifles use, but I haven't figured a way for my rifles to carry them selves so I prefer Seekins.)

2. Attachment type (If Badgers get loose I can tighten them with my multi tool. With Seekings I have to carry a small wrench.)

I use Seekins on all my new builds. Weight adds up and I hate putting lots of weight in places other than barrel, action, and scope. Its not much weight but it all counts as you get older and you are packing it.

I use both the Seekins and Badgers on my rifles. My newer rifles all get seekins rings and bases. I like the fact they are a little lighter. I have used EGW bases in the past and won't use them again. They got chewed up a little with the Badger steel rings that I used with them. Have not had that problem with the seekins rings and or bases interchanged with badger products.
