We are starting a sniper/long range match at River Bend Gun Club in Dawsonville, GA. RBGC is about an hour north of Atlanta.

First match will be 9/25.
Cost will be $30, with the hope to drop to $20 in the next year or so once costs are recuperated.

To compete in the match you will need a bolt action or semi-automatic rifle capable of shooting accurately out to 600 yards, known elevation adjustments (DOPE) out to 600 yards, and a bipod. Round count will probably be in the 50 range, with a more precise number released a week or two before the match.

Shooting will be from a variety of positions including but not limited to tank traps, barrels, cattle gates, barricades, prone etc.

We will plan to shoot 6 stages on the Silhouette range, with a max of 30 shooters split into three squads of 10. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Registration will go live 9/1 at 6PM EST: https://practiscore.com/09-25-2022-river-bend-sniper-match-clone/register

All of this info should soon be published on https://www.rbgc.org along with a copy of the rules, and for RBGC members you should see an announcement in the club Bullet-In next week.

If I can answer any questions, just let me know.

Thanks, Luke

Unfortunately not, we don’t have 100 at the range the match takes place on.

If you can find a RBGC member, you could meet up with them before the match and shoot on one of the other ranges.
I have never shot a match that didn’t have a zero confirmation before the match is that even safe/smart .. so there will be no shots fired until the match begins unless you’re a member ?

Are you a member that can meet us all there early to confirm 100yd zero on the other range

The rules state that you must bring a rifle that you can accurately shoot out to 600 meters in Section 2, 2-B, you can read them here: https://rbgc.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=265856&module_id=537448

Two zeroing options I can think of:
Cheap: You can zero at Wilson Shoals WMA, it is a public range in Lula, Ga. It will be open all day Saturday the day before the match, and possibly even Sunday morning. It got renovated not long ago, it is a nice place for being a public range.

Expensive: Governors Gun Club in Buford, GA. Not sure what they charge, I think $50 or so, but they have a 100 yard indoor range.

No, I will be setting up the match so I am unable to. I would be happy to meet you at the range sometime to help you zero, but I will not have time before this match. I could definitely help you out before the January match.

Also, if you are unsure of your zero we do have Surgeon Rifle with a Vortex scope in .308 as a loaner rifle. You just pay for the ammo (175 FGMM). Unfortunately it has already been claimed for this match, but if you want to use it at a future match just let me know.

Yeah I hear ya on the rules part I have a rifle and dope out to 600yds that’s why I entered however I’ve never started a match before with a cold rifle and no zero check. I think ranges offer that for a reason. What if during travel or transport of rifle even with it in a case has a scope bumped out of zero ? Any chance you let us that have zeroed rifles get a confirmation at 200 yd then before the match starts or do we just have shots for the match only and just roll with it ?

Roll with it, we don’t have time to zero every shooter.

If your rifle gets bumped off zero and you can’t shoot, you can shoot my Masterpiece Arms 6CM with a Gen 2 Vortex Razor. I will bring extra ammo (on me).

It made it though a tactical games sniper challenge and plenty of rucks without ever losing zero, so it should be on.

Hello shooters, I had a chance of plans and we are back on schedule to have a match on our usual first Sunday of the month in April.

Registration will open March 24, 2023 @ 6:00 PM, and as I mentioned before we will now be shooting 8 stages instead of 6.

Sorry for the confusion, looking forward to shooting with y'all!

We now have a loaner rifle available for those who want to try the match but do not have a rifle to do so.

I will provide the ammo at cost ($30 a box), and everything you could possibly need to compete. (Bags, DOPE, tripods, Bipods etc).

It is zeroed/I have dope for Federal GM65CRDBH2 Premium Gold Medal 6.5 Creedmoor 140 gr Berger Hybrid Target.

I just moved from South Georgia to Jasper Georgia. I am looking for a place to shoot. I need to come see your place and see about joining. Finding two people that have seen me shoot in your membership though will be a challenge. Are there any other long range clubs in north Georgia?

Well said @Obone I’m sure he will hear your request.

Obone,

You do not have to be a member to shoot in the River Bend Precision Rifle Match. Just register by clicking on the practiscore link Gentleman4561 provided, show up, and have fun.

The match is open to the public, I am a member and if you give me a heads up I’ll watch you shoot the match and be one of your sponsors.

We normally have 15+ members at every match that are happy to verify you can shoot safely.

Thanks, Luke

I’m looking for a club to join. I have not entered a match before and am uncertain if I ever wanted to compete. I really want a range/club to practice at.
Feel free to come watch our match, if you don’t want to compete go to the “Hunter Rifle” match.

It’s much more laid back and has a heavy focus on instruction.

Stages for this Sundays River Bend Precision Rifle Match.
