Gunsmithing Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

Re: Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

Lowlight

What was your reason for picking the Creedmoor vs. the other 6.5 calibers?

Awesome rifle and experience!

Re: Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

I Talked to Robert Gradous yesterday. I'm going in January. I was hoping to get there in the next 2 months but I got the call today that I am starting Machine Tech school at UASF on the 22nd and I'm gonna save some money too. Supposed to have started Machine class back at the first of the yeat but nobody else signed up for the class so they couldn't have it. Anyways I will have a semester of Machine Tech class under my belt when I get to Roberts shop so I won't be such a noob.
My builds going to be components that he has on hand in this order... Surgeon 591, Bartlein MTU 1-11.25, .308win., McMillian A5 fully adj., Surgeon BM, Jewell HVR trigger. Anyways 5 months and I'm counting down the days. Can't wait.

Re: Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

Taking the class is one of the most rewarding things I've done. Pretty cool shooting a rifle that was put together by you. I can't say enough about Robert's patience. Even asking several, ok more than several times if I was going to turn the hand wheel the correct way. Try it you'll like it.

Re: Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

PGS, don't worry about the machining part. I had to look at Robert & get approval that I was turning the wheel the correct direction. Robert has the most patience of anybody I know. He put up with my animated & very challenged way of checking about the way "this" would move when I turned "that". If you have the chance to go & take his class I highly recommend it.

Re: Robert Gradous Gunsmithing Class Review

Gents-

Great write up-I agree a thousand percent-The class is a truly amazing experience. Robert has a wealth of knowledge and he is incredibly effective in imparting that knowledge. He has a way of explaining technical details and procedures in a very comprehensible manner so you understand the why as well as the how. Then he is very patient as you practice skillls prior to implementing them.

Then , as cool as making the rifle is,
his shooting shed is the eighth wonder of the world in terms of ease of load development.

Incredible time!
