Wow, I looked back on here and I figured $1500 for a PSL would be a no-go, I remember Tiger's going for that way back when... And those were real Drags with a shorter barrel.
I remember when the PSL's started showing up, some were sold AS drags. But it's really just a x54 AK. I wanna say they were $500 but don't quote me. They were sold by a liquidator with the scope and mags and some had a cleaning kit, sling and some other doo dads.
The halcyon days of $199 AK74's are over (yeah, I walked out the door with one for that plus tax in 99 or 2000). I sold my milled Arsenal SLR95 (considered to be the best AK ever built) for $500 like an idiot... It was actually a fair price back then. That rifle just FELT smooth, not janky like an AK at all. Steyr barrels. No idea what they'd go for today like that. I also sold my RPK for $400 with a drum IIRC. These rifles were a dime a dozen back then, kinda like AR's today but even cheaper.
So the price on a PSL? Fuck, I guess I couldn't tell 'ya anymore.
But I CAN tell you that if I were going to buy an AK today there are only a few I'd consider. Arsenal is one, but they ain't cheap. A modified Saiga would be another (also the ideal candidate for a PSL if you want a better one). An actual Lancaster would be tops on the list, but those were made for SAS by one guy in Britain, so good luck scoring one of those. Kalshnikov just came out with a new x51 that would be high on my list were I looking for one:

But for the prices on these, I'm not so sure I'd get one unless I just wanted it. For the price you can get a decent FAL or G3 from DSA or PTR, both of whom secured the actual plans from the mfg. Jard makes a 2 stage trigger for FAL almost as nice as the Geissele (they've stepped up their game a LOT).
