Rifle Scopes Rosin on the rings before mounting?

I read that Spuhr recommends the use of Rosin on the rings.

Brownells to be exact and they only sell a 1-lb size for $25 plus shipping.

I know that this is just a powder that they use for baseball and other sports in a rosin bag for $2.

Will this work the same?

Anyone else recommend or use this prior to mounting?

Should be the same stuff or at least close enough to work the same.

Save your $25 and torque them correctly and they won't come loose or slip.
