My AR knowledge is really limited, so i would appreciate any help. This is pretty much what i want, but don't know what a good price would be. Keep in mind im in California. The guy said he would ship for free, but i have $75 in FFL fees once it gets here. So, given my fees, what would you pay for this?

" Like New:
Lower: Stag with RRA NM Trigger, Bullet Button, Two 10rd. Mags
Upper: RRA A4 SS 18" Varmint 1:8 Twist
Less than 150 rounds fired
$1,000

Will sell upper seperate or trade for 03A3

Bipod and Scope setup Not included."

Re: RRA AR Whats it worth?

That sounds about fair given that he's shipping for free. I have basically the same rifle only with a 20" barrel and the lower is RRA as well (pretty sure since its the varmint model I'm ok) and I paid $960 for it and that was without the exsise tax as I bought the upper and lower seperate, and I bought it back in '07 before all this crazyness started.

Personally I'd see if he'd be willing to knock another 50 bucks off the price but depending on when he actually bought it he might already be taking a good sized hit on it.

Re: RRA AR Whats it worth?

Check out PK firearms. They may still have a Sabre upper which is preferable to RRA. If it doesn't have BCG, add $140 for one from BCM. Stag is fine for lower, complete should be $300-$350-ish with that trigger.

Overall, sounds like a fair deal, but I'm of the opinion that when new is everywhere, used should be well discounted. So yeah, ask for at least $50 off.

Sorry, can't help you with CA conversion ratios.

I get a lot of stuff through Onpoint Firearms. This is kind of a web only business. His price for what you're describing NEW, not with < 150 is $941. I think he's a little high on that price, but are you limited by pre-ban/post-ban still?

fngmike: I just moved to cali so I had to research all the laws and what I found is that you can have an AR with all the evil features you want but you have to have a bullet button installed and can only use 10 round mags. no if you want to use 20 or 30 round mags the rifle has to be featureless, i.e. no bayo lug, pistol grip. Also flash suppressors are verboten but muzzle brakes are fine.

There are certain makes and models of ARs that are verboten as well, like you can own a RRA varmint model but you can't own a RRA CAR A4.

I'm in So Cal also. Just an fyi.... you could probably piece one together (new)for that amount. Check gun broker for a deal on the upper and lower parts kit. I recently purchased, on gun broker, a RRA lower kit with NM trigger for $120.00. Bought a Mega lower local for around $130 + fees. Don't be afraid to put a lower together yourself. Once you do it, you'll be surprised at how easy it is.
