Ruger 10-22 takedown mod

I am wondering if a custom barrel on the takedown is a good idea. Wanting to use the Magpul X-22 Backpacker. Iron sights. Worth the money?

Do the tacsol barrels make the zero repeatable after takedown and reassembly? Also, what kind of groups are being achieved? At least .75 at 50m?

Never had a zero problem with mine...
Groups were 1/2 moa at 50 yards and around 1 moa to 1 1/2 moa at 100 yards with cci sv

Very repeatable but there's a Magpul add on that adds a small rail to the barrel so it stays w/ the barrel when taken down.

I run a Vortex Venom w/ a Strike Industries "cage" for some protection.

I just got one of those little 12"w/shroud tac sol barrels myself. Waiting impatiently for my form 1 to clear so I can pull off the dummy and get to work.

I'm betting dollars to donuts it shifts poi at least to some degree with disassembly and reassembly

I assume they do shift a small bit, but as long as the shift is less than 1/2moa, I don’t believe it matters all that much; given the intent of a takedown semi-auto. If the shift is over an inch at 50 yards, then the system has problems

I'll do a POI shift test once I get that little barrel on and my form 1 comes back.
