I have a Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 that I was having trouble getting to shoot reasonably well. Bore scope inspection revealed deep 360 degree circular gouges in multiple locations, and a few chipped lands, plus a TON of copper being deposited at each location. I emailed Ruger about the issue and offered to send bore scope pictures. They asked me to call them, so I did. He asked no questions, and sent me a UPS label, and I sent the rifle in.
I received email notifications at each step in their inspection and repair process. 11 days later, I have my rifle back with a brand new barrel, along with some test target photos.
Haven't shot yet, but new barrel looks much better. They took care of this no questions asked. A+ all the way. Thought I'd share.
