I bought this little pistol to hunt critters with and plink. Everything was going pretty well even after I switched to a KIDD 6" threaded bull barrel for when my suppressor does finally show up. The groups shrunk but it still hasn't found a round that it really likes. In any case, I switched out the rear buffer and the bolt and spring to all KIDD innovation stuff. Now my pistol won't cycle the next round. In fact someone it doesn't move the bolt much at all after the shot leaving the spent shell still in the chamber and the rifle completely uncycled. I thought maybe the 40gr federal ammo I was shooting might be the problem so I switched to the lighter spring and it still wouldn't feed after the shot. It did feed for six rounds today but after that it went back to the one shot, drop the magazine, clear the chamber, load another round and repeat. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

I cleaned the bolt, receiver, etc, even oiled some but still had problems so I am not sure what I have done wrong...

Ohh, and sometimes the spent brass gets jammed with the bolt only slightly open denting the spent round. When I put a new shell into the chamber and work the bolt it is smooth and pulls the unspent round out, throws it out, loads the next one just fine…. but when I shoot it doesn't cycle….

Try some match ammo like Wolf or SK. I'm guessing that the Federal ammo is bulk and that the Kidd chamber is a match chamber. Match chambers work best with match ammo.

Try different mags too.

I hope you get it working good.

Had a buddy let me use his match stuff... Shot perfect without any hiccup and group around an inch. The federal match stuff and the eley match may have grouped best today but it was close... So it only likes match ammo apparently

Does anyone have more info on a Kidd chamber? I don't see any mention that the pistol barrels have a match chamber. From their website, "A proprietary chamber reamer is used to ensure the cartridge and bullet feed smoothly. Our barrels are chambered to accept .22 ammo and have a 1:16 twist."

Try polishing the head of the hammer strut, and make sure that the "C" clip holding the spring is facing up.... Check inside receiver for drag marks from the bolt and polish. I have put a "Q" tip in a cordless drill with a touch of Flitz to polish up a sticky chamber. No problems with my Kidd stuff. Also, like above....try a different mag.

I may have it figured out….. so, it turns out its the spring/strut for the hammer I think…. it binds sometimes causing the bolt to be really difficult to slide back and forth even by hand. So with subsonic ammo it doesn't have near the force needed to eject the spent casing and reload the next shell resetting the trigger. I emailed kidd about my difficulty and just using the stock strut and spring assembly and it shoots everything fine. I did replace the extractor with a Kidd one and it holds on to all the shells now….
