A few weeks ago I was in my backyard dry firing my RPR when I pulled the trigger and heard a dull sounding click. I did it again, same thing. So I go in the house and pull the shroud off and sure enough, a part of the firing pin broke. This was one week before a match. F*ck, sh_t, panic! I would never have time to ship my gun to Ruger and get it back before the match. Never mind the $250. non-refundable match fee.

So the following morning at 7:59 AM I caller Ruger. By 8:00 I had a live person on the phone. No voicemail, no email referral, no message that I was 8th in the line. I think her name was Sandy.

Sandy sent the part next day air to me and would take no money. My gun is three years old. It has 2800 rounds through it, and probably as many dry cycles. I am not even sure it is under warranty. Exactly twenty six hours from my call, the big brown truck was in front of my house with the part. I got the gun back together and was off to the match the following week.

Ironically, at the match I had five engineers from Team Ruger shooting in my squad! It was a great opportunity to tell them what I liked about the gun, and suggestions for change. Most of the guys were testing prototype accessories and all were friendly and eager to listen. They represented Ruger well.

I shoot mostly factory Hornaday 140 ELD's and the gun shoots just as good as others costing exponentially more. It always feeds, extracts, and ejects with PMAGS, ARC mags, and AICS mags. And I run it hard as it should be.

As an added bonus, Ruger had THREE RPR's on the prize table. I can't say enough about the company. Thank you Ruger.

If you read in the FAQs (I think that is where) Ruger firearms don't actually have a warranty at all, written or otherwise. They just have a commitment to help their customers no matter what. It is a pretty cool model actually, IMO.

P.S.--Glad to hear everything worked out for you!

Best CS experience I ever had was with Ruger on a MK III 22 pistol. They took care of every problem I had, at least some of which was my fault. Their work was quick and flawless. I wish they all treated customers like that.
