Ruger rpr with small primers, anyone having problems?

In particular 6mm Lapua srp brass in a gen 1 rpr. I kinda already have the brass but don’t want any drama. Is this problem overstated?

What problem? I have about 1K rounds of Lapua SRP through my Gen ! RPR 6.5 CM with NO issues whatsoever.

Well There has been talk that the Ruger firing pin hole in the bolt is pretty big and some small primers don’t like that. Obviously it’s just Internet talk so that’s kind of why I was asking around for people with first-hand info thanks sounds like you’re having no problem so that’s a good sign

I had to have mine bushed. Cratering pretty bad with just moderate loads.

Use CCI 41''s or CCI mag primers, both have thicker cups and prevent piercing unless your running crazy hot loads.
Did the trick in my gen 1 6.5x47L

Sent it to Gre-Tan rifles. Great work and had it back in less than 10 days. Very reasonable pricing too.

Chad Dixon at LRI just bushed the bolt on a .223 RPR for a buddy, fast turnaround and looks factory.

I was using 6.5creed lapua brass, before they made 6creed, in a rpr gen2 6 creed. No issues with it in factory tomato stake or a great criterion barrel. My load in criterion was 107@3140fps and I used cci br4

I was running 43.1 grains of H4350 under a 140 eld in Lapua Brass with my 6.5CM and never had a lick of issues.
