Not that the SR22 is "brand new" or anything, but thought I would share a quick problem/fix about the pistol.
Bought a threaded version that I keep with my 22 suppressor (Zephyr XL, Thompson Machine- Great little suppressor, no first round pop) and shoot occasionally, mostly for pest control around the house without disturbing the neighbors.
Well, after only 40 rounds, she stopped working. Trigger goes all the way back and... nothing. No single or double action. Hmm...
Sent the pistol back to Ruger after talking to my local dealer- apparently, the magazine release on quite a few of these pistols stops working for whatever reason, and since this pistol doesn't fire without the magazine, when this goes... no fire.
Just got it back from Ruger today, approximately 12 days after I sent it to them. Very quick turnaround. Shoots fine now, still a great little pistol. Guessing since its only about a year old design they haven't worked all the bugs out quite yet. Also, from what I hear the problem is either hit or miss- you might have it, you might not.
Beyond that, I still really like the little SR22 pistol. Dropped in the river ONCE, cleaned and still shoots great. Hey, accidents happen... especially in canoes.
