Running a hone in a chamber, that has a burr

I don't know what I should do, the gun was built for my dad, in 2003 I now have it and the chamber has a burr/burr's in it, is a #600 hone to much for it, will I damage it.
I have seen them for sale from Midway, I just wonder if they will remove to much material, I know how to do a lot of thing's and understand just have never done this to a gun ???????????????

If a gunsmith is out of the question I would use very fine sand paper. Take a wooden dowel and cut it in the center about an inch deep ( along the length of the dowel ). Then take a length of like 400 grit and insert it in the slit with about a half of an inch sticking out. Then wrap it clockwise until it is close to the chamber diameter. Chuck it up in a variable speed drill and lube the hell out of the chamber. Run the drill at slow speed lubing often checking the burs until they are gone. Finish with a finer grit until the chamber shines again. Clean the hell out of the bore and get the safety glasses out. I have done this for some dumbass friends who have let their chambers rust...

I don't think I would do that but I would want to know more about the burr/burr's before I made an attack plan.
