Rifle Scopes S&B Left Hand Issues?

I have all but made up my mind to spring for a S&B 5-25, 4-16, or ultrashort with an MSR reticle when I have read several accounts of the PM2 not being left hand friendly. Hoping someone can elaborate on this. Trying to figure out if it will actually impede me or is just a preference thing. Thanks to anyone who can answer this simple (I’m assuming) question.

The illumination dial is in the way for lefties. @siscoe308 can elaborate further

If you have a short bolt throw, like on an Accuracy International, Curtis Axiom, or Weatherby Mark V you would be fine. If you shoot a Rem 700 or similar footprint with a higher bolt throw the illumination knob is in the way. You may be able to mount your scope super high, but that is not comfortable for me.

One solution is to remove the illumination dial which seems rather involved and defeats the purpose of having it. The other option is to get a different scope that doesn't hate lefties.

Like @Krob95 said, I have a PmII 5-25 in Spuhr low rings on a lefty Surgeon 591. The knob is in the road & needed removed.

I sent the scope to S&B’s service center in Virginia to have the the lum removed. If memory serves they charged me $100ish bucks +one way shipping. They turned it around in 2-3 weeks.

I have a 5-25 PMII on my LH AT

I have no issues whatsoever

I put a sb on a lefty stiller tac 30 and on a defiance deviant long action and they both worked for me. It was a matter of the length of pull on my Mpa chassis and my scopes are set a couple notches forward on the pic rail, so the tumor on the scope is forward of my bolt knob.
you’ll just have to set one on your rifle and see if you can get it to work

I havev4 PMiis that I runnon RH guns left handed... and it has gave me any problems.

Illum is in the way of the bolt. I have one with illum removed.

I removed the illum knob from my PMiis to fit on my lefty Impact match rifles, but you won’t need to if running a lefty AI. This is the 4001 mount (Lowest 34mm they make) as well. If you run the taller mounts the clearance is even greater.
