Hello,
I am a lurker who just tries to learn.
I have a S&B PM-II I have been casually using for a few years. The scope did come with a "killSHADE". I am not currently using it. I can't recall if this model of S&B came with a sunshade? I went looking in the box and can't seem to find one, so perhaps I had it confused with another scope? Am I mistaken?
For those who use their S&Bs, do you use the killSHADE? I did a search and it appears some people experience some light-loss (other makes of scopes) and some don't.
Does the make of the shade make a difference? Mine came with the scope and I purchased it from a dealer here 3+ years ago.
My thoughts are to use it since it will afford another level of protection to the glass. I recently was in the field and got a drop of sweat on the eye-piece for the first time. So the thought is there.
I use an Eagle scope cover. If the scope with killSHADE won't fit, I assume Eagle makes longer scope covers I can order?
And yes, those reading this thread thinking "This dude is in way over his head", well...you nailed it. I barely tread water on this forum.
Regards,
Greyson
