Hello, I have narrowed down my next scope to a 12-50 pmii, the rifle that it's going on spends most of it's time shooting at 1100yds. Currently I Have a nxs 5.5-22x56 that never comes off 22 power.

I am having a hard time deciding on Ffp or sfp, I know the diff between them and have owned both so I don't need a lesson on Ffp vs sfp.

I don't have any need to range targets at different magnifications or take quick shots at short distances. Basically I would just like to know from people that have used one or the other or both what they perfer for just plain shooting?

Also can anyone confirm that since the sfp ranges at 50x that the reticle size will be the same at 50x on both the Ffp and the sfp at 50x

The reticle will be p4f

Thanks

I'd recommend FFP. It'll probably run you a little more but you wont regret it. Especially if you plan on switching between different magnifications.. On the flip side if money is tight and/or you like dealing with the draw backs of an SFP then run with that.

Re: S&B PMII 12-50 Ffp or sfp

there both the same price here so that makes the decision even harder!

I'm worried that the reticle might be to small at say 20x on the ffp

But I guess it should be the same size at 20x that it would be on 20x with a 5-25 PMII? Is this right?

This is what I thought at first, but after thinking about it more since the sfp subtensions are accurate at 50x wouldn't that mean that the ffp scope will have a smaller reticle than the sfp at any power less than 50x? Or am I all messed up?

I was under the impression, this scope ranged at 25x, some of the f-class shooters use thiis scope, some good reticle choices for the SFP, wonder what the weight on these are.

Use the contact formular on S&B's german site and they will email you a pdf for the p4f spf and ffp. The spf pdf shows reticle at min and max magnification.

I plan on getting this scope with the sfp "sport" reticle. I really like the fact that the S&B fov@12x is almost the same as the 8-32x56 NF and Sightron are @8X.
