Anyone around here shoot or own one? I just picked one up from Sportsmans Superstore Outdoor. com something for $264 plus a $25 dollar rebate and every penny of it has to go back into the pistol. I guess I got what I paid for?? The rear sight is crooked and cock eyed. I'm going to go with the S&W trijicon night sights, the Apex trigger and spring kit, and a steel guide rod. Its almost going to cost as much as a glock, it will just be a silver one. I do like that it carries 14 rounds in the magazine and the grip frame feels good in my hand. We'll see how the upgrades work out???.....

Have the 9mm one as a garage gun...not great trigger my sights are fine with alignment but not great. But for a $250 gun can't complain as it functions just fine and is accurate if you overcome the crap trigger. But for me this is just a cheap backup in a quick access safe in my garage.

I would suggest just doing the trigger spring kit a cheaper but decent sights if yours are skewed (actually just ask s&w and they usually mail out a free replacement set). That fixes issues and keeps it for the intended purpose of cheap but reliable gun.

Is this similar to the mp shield? PSA has shields for $300 ($245 after rebate) and I was considering getting one or two. How would trigger compare to factory glock?

The only gun I own that I would not have qualms about selling. Jam-o-matic.
It appears the problem for me was machining ridges on the feed ramp caught bullets and kept them from chambering and the gun going in to battery.

I've never bothered to complain to SW. Maybe someday.

Could be a candidate for my first attempt at putting Dremel to handgun.

I do know a guy who carried one as armed security before he got picked up by a PD and he had no issues. So it seems it can be made to work. But if I remember correctly the internet chatter when it was offered and more popular there were many, many, people unhappy with it.

It strikes me as a "dude, I coulda got a Glock" kinda gun. If it was correctly functioning out of the box it could be a good option at $250 for someone with a very tight budget and they couldn't hold tight and save a little longer.

I haven't pulled it out in years, but I seem to recall the trigger was extremely spongy.

If you haven't yet sunk extra money into it I would consider it a lesson learned, sell it, and move on.

    YMMV.

This thread makes me wonder why S&W is all over the place with quality. I've seen some damn fine shooting guns come out of their factory. And, other guns, like the one in this thread that are just cheap junk. If you ever had to count on one in a gunfight, you'd stand a damn good chance of it quitting on you. Not the way to stay alive.

It just seems like their marketing department is paranoid. Like they have to continually cover all bases. I don't understand why they don't cater to the upper end of the working class gun that really made them famous (and money). Not the high dollar stuff and not the Saturday night specials. Those haven't been lucrative on the high end. And, the low end is fraught with liability. I can't say personally about this gun, but that is what I've seen from S&W over the years.

    Thanks for the laugh!!

Its pretty much a copy of a glock so I can't be that disappointed!

After taking mine out of the box and shooting it. I noticed that the rear sight is bent up with the shim they put under it incorrectly. :(

I knew it would need a set of night sight from the word GO. And an apex trigger kit. and an apex spring kit. and a steel guide rod..... and a......

I avoid most "and a, and a, and a" situations by buying new Meprolight sights and ambidextrous controls mounted from the get-go wherever possible if it's going into the carry rotation. I've passed up on a lot of stuff sticking to my guns in that manner.

What pistol comes with Mepro sights stock? I just added them to my Glock 22 the tritium/fiber optic bullseye sights, badass!!!!

on another note, I do like projects!!

LE versions quite often come set up. And some shops can and will make changes/improvements on goods to move them. Projects that get me something that I definitely couldn't get otherwise are fine. Commonplace changes can be annoying when every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to dip his beak and make a little coin.

I got one. The reason is I didn't have a 40 cal and ended up with a couple cases of 40 cal ammo gifted to me. It went through the ammo with out a hick up. The trigger doesn't bother me. Tons of dryfiring fixed that plus the fact I'm a revolver guy.

It feels good in my hands. Benching it the thing is accurate. But for some reason (me not the gun) I cant shoot it. I like it. Some day I'll learn to shoot it. I personally think my problem is with the 40 cal ammo. Maybe I'll try another 40 cal to see.

Sucker looks fragile on the inside, but mine works flawlessly. I kind of like it. I love the fit.

But you have to have a 40 cal. so this one is good as any.

I don't have time for this, damn this post, now I got to take it out and shoot it.
