I am trying to figure out if I am reading my digital calipers correctly. Maybe you guys can shine some light on my dumb ass. SAAMI says minimum case length is 2.015. My calipers read down to the tenths of thousandths the way I understand it so at zero it would read 0.0000. So if I am going for 2.015 would mine read 2.0150? Or 2.0015? The last two numbers are smaller than the rest on the digital screen.

I have a dillon head space guage I am also using which at 2.0015 the neck is actually lower than the lowest step on the head space guage surface. Little help?

2.015 and 2.0015 are very different. 308 case length 2.005-2.015 (min to max)
Max case length on your caliper should read 2.0150”, trim length is not to exceed 2.005”. I mean you could, cartridge headspaces on shoulder, but your case neck will be too short for spec.
Okay, thats exactly what I needed to know. I smoked about 50 of my cases then by trimming them to short by reading my calipers wrong. So on my digital calipers 2.0150 max and 2.0050 min. Thank you.

Yes . . . Min = 2.005 and max is 2.015.

It's NOT unusual to find virgin brass as short at 2.002 - 2.003. Upon the 1st reload and fire forming, those case lengths will be longer and you can trim to the min or anything you want up to the 2.015.
