I'm totally enamored by this thing. I don't know if it's intended to be a precision rifle or a .50 BMG assault rifle (that's how I plan on configuring it). Regardless, I don't care, I just want one. I have no logical reasoning here, it's just exactly what I've been hoping someone would make for years. Finally a .50 BMG plinker!

Between the ~17 pound weight and that massive muzzle brake I would definitely want to put a few rounds down range

Actually, it's not a Sabre Defence design, they'll just be manufacturing most of it. It was <span style="font-weight: bold">designed & developed by Charles St. George</span> (who also designed the original M17S [i.e. ART30] in 1986, & the Leader T2 5.56 in Australia, 1980)

Its semblance to the M17S was one of the first things I noticed.

$6800 is a lot, now I need to sell a camera... I've got to question if the price is justified, or if the companies are just jacking it up because of the 50BMG factor? Anyway, thanks for the good info, I couldn't find it anywhere; and good first post.

I hear ya, it does sound like a lot when you don't have the cash on hand (it is a pricey caliber anyway), but considering Barrett sells his .50 semi-auto from $8,900 – $11,700 (which kicks so bad most civilian buyers only ever fire it once!) with none of the LSR's advantages, it doesn't seem quite so bad, eh

I do know that in marketing terms the psychological factor is always an important consideration when launching something really new to retain credibility/prestige and competitive edge — it's a tricky balance. For example, if it were priced too much lower than Barrett's, potential buyers might wonder why and if it wasn't as good as claimed; too high and they could shy off.

Well, good news is you probably have about 6 months lead time to save up for the first production lot

Good info there. The only thing I'm left wondering is how well is it expected to perform when it comes to accuracy?
