Damn! That's wicked fast for such a short barreled 6.5.

A quick question on the mount, in the pics it looks like the area for the cross bolts protrudes into the ejection port area. Have you seen any brass hitting that as it ejects?

I thought the same when I first mounted th scope but I've put a little over 100 rounds through it and its yet to malfunction or create an issue with ejection.

Allow me to echo all the praise thus far, THAT is one beautiful rifle.

Just so you can answer Justin and me at the same time: I'm looking at picking up a Defiance/Deviant action to have on hand for my next build (also a 6.5CM with similar setup to yours but not nearly has sexy). My last custom is on a 591 action. From your groups I'm guessing I know the answer, but any impressions, especially any negatives, you've found with the Defiance?
I'm also looking at a 22-23" (Bartlein) barrel shooting factory ammo, at least for now, so any chrono/ long range impressions you come up with would be much appreciated.

Again, that is one SWEET rifle.

2900fps is WICKED fast for 140gr Hornady Factory ammo from a 23" barrel. Although it is 5R rifling and melonited so you may be onto something there. Any pressure signs on the case heads or primers? If not roll with it and enjoy your "freak" of a rifle.

No pressure signs and primers look good, a little flattening but nothing crazy. I've double and triple check all the info in my ballistic app to make sure but it all correct. This is my dope card.
