What is the best way of purchasing items similar to those like in this site that protects the buyer.... Besides face to face seems like it's only trust. Just got burned hard from another site...
That is a great question. That is why we used to have a 100 post threshold here.
It is best to get all the information from the person selling as you can. I tried to buy a scope from a guy down south and something just seemed wrong so I asked for a copy of the drivers license. He would not give me a copy so I did not buy.
It's risky. I've had nothing but good luck here, knock on wood. You can always search their past for sale threads and see how they went. A phone call goes a long way as well.
