Safe question

I currently have a Liberty Safe. I'm having an issue with the way some of my rifles are stored in the safe. I have a couple of "youth" rifles that have short stocks. In my safe, it comes with a wooden rack that you can lay the barrel against to prevent the rifle from moving around within the safe. For me, this rack is about 4" too high and it can not be adjusted due to the other half of it being part of the shelf on the left hand side of the safe.
Have you guys ran into this issue as well? If so, what have you done to fix it?

Staple some matching carpet/fabric to the underside of your shelves/cutouts and get some of these - Rifle Rods.

The Rifle Rods are all I use in my safe. If you can, lower a full shelf to about 3-4" above your tallest gun. I made a small riser for my AR type weapons to set on to get them up higher. I couldn't be more pleased with the rods.

Your other option would be to just build a riser for your shorter rifles to get them up to work with what you have - something about the size of a surplus military ammo can would work in a pinch. I built mine out of some scrap composite decking I had left over after building my deck.

I had the exact same issue. Here is a simple fix for you. Cut two pieces of a 2"x4" to the length you need to reach the rack. Screw them together, chamfer the edges (if you want)& wrap them with carpet (i stapled my carpet to the wood) that matches the interior of your safe. You now have a custom block that is narrow enough so it doesn't hit other stocks & is tall enough for your short rifles to reach the shelf.

Even easier, get some wooden rods at the hobby shop, stick em in the muzzle of the shorter guns. Now you can lean them up against the existing racks and you are set.

The "classy way" is to add a carpeted shelf (2x4 or otherwise), the quick fix is the dowel method metioned, and the "ghetto method" is foam stick up shelves or velcro ties and pads.

I had several extra shelves with my Liberty. I simply took one of those and put it about six inches from the bottom of the safe using the shelf rails that are mounted on the sides of the safe. If you need an extra shelf and hardware for the rails, I'm sure your Liberty dealer could set you up.
