I have owned Sako Quad for almost a year now. Before even buying one I already looked up what kind of problems these have and the fixes for them. I wanted the easy barrel switch. It really takes around 15 sec to remove, 30 to 45 seconds to change due to packing and unpacking the barrels and POI difference is unnoticeable between changes. Of course HMR has other elevation settings, with 0.4mil windage to right.
Just last weekend, having previously re-attached barrel because of chamber cleaning (I take barrel almost always off for cleaning) I positioned at the range and shot 4 Eleys right on target 110yds away, 5th falling 0.5" below.
For background, other guns I have handled are CZ455 and Anschutz.

Bolt:
Bolt was smooth from day one.
But closing took small force. Not much, but I wanted to make it even smoother.
I found a fix for this from web. I took some material, 0.5mm/0.0039" from the bolt to make the bolt catch trigger later. This is called timing?
I believe that also the trigger surface can be shortened, sometimes even adjusted.
Now I can close the bolt with my pinky and it is by far the easiest and fastest bolt I have tried. It just flies.
I also wanted to ease working the bolt up. As you know it gets more demanding with the 60 degree throw.
I did this by rounding the edge that climbs up the bolt to cock it.
I also had problems extracting 22LR. But it threw the HMR cases like 1 meter away. I do not remember which ammo did it concern, but it was like 1/20. I took slightly some material from the top of extractor claw to let it rest fully on the rim.
I also had sometimes a case left on the mag, an ejection problem. Never with HMR though, only 22LR.
For this I found some instructions but I mainly just tried myself to eject slowly and watched closely where the extra kick needs to be.
I then bent it a little and it is good now. I should boost it some more so that they fly better into my casecatcher.
Trigger:
The original trigger was great but I had already decided before ordering the gun that I will have B&A's. It is of course phenomenal.
Barrel:
Seems very smooth and shoots pretty good. I have a Teslong borescope and the barrel does not seem to need cleaning much at all, just cleaning the chamber every now and then is enough. I have never benched it but with Eley Match (bipod, no rear support) I do 0.9moa on average at 110yds. Very often it is me that ruins any better scores.
This is 55yds with Lapua Biathlon, 25 shots. I am saving the last boxes of this lot, I've sent few groups to 109 yds of them and have had maybe 0.8moa on all of them.
I got the HMR mostly for hunting purposes but I am quite dissapointed with the cartridge quality. But it makes an average of roughly 1.2moa.

I later on bought some CCI Gamepoint that does around 1MOA and that is enough for me.
All in all, after all the tweaking it has become a very nice rifle, achieving good accuracy with ultimate ease of use in a semi light package. I am however planning a Lilja for it to further increase accuracy, and I am in the hope of getting same accuracy with cheaper ammo with it.
