Sako TRG-22 .260/.308 switch barrel, thoughts

I was thinking about rebarreling my Sako TRG for .260. The idea is to keep the .308 barrel and just switch the barrels between the .260 and .308 when I feel like it. I already have the action wrench and will purchase a barrel vise.
Any thoughts on this idea or issues that you could think of me running into if I persue this besides a little lighter of a wallet?
Bolt face from my understanding is the same negating having to deal with that and the seating depth should have negligable effects ie I should be able to use the Sako magazines unless I am wrong?

Let us know if that works, if it turns out I will be doing the same thing!

I would think the magazines would be the same. Heck have even seen some posts where people were running AICS mags in their TRG's with no ill effects.

Yah man I don't see how it wouldn't be an awsome setup. You won't go wrong with a .260 , specially for some long range applications. Keep us updated on how it works out.

I had the same thing but went with a 6.5 Creedmoor... Turns out I never wanted to shoot the 308 barrel so I ended up selling it and turning that into more 6.5CM reloading components... Now I am looking into doin a 6xc swap barrel and runnign that for a little bit.

I've been thinking of buying a TRG22 and making it a 6XC/.308 switch barrel. That way I'll have two sets of 6XC and .308. I'll have a back up anytime I need it for comps or classes.

I liked my TRG42 ergos and trigger so much I wish I would have just started with this platform. With the Spuhr mount I'm pretty sure I can just have one optic for both TRGs as I'll rarely be shooting both on the same day.

I run TRG's 308, 260 and 6xc, magazines function 100% in all so your GTG there.

I don't have a switch barrel set up, but I do have 2 TRG22's, on in 308, and one in 260. I usually love whichever one I just finished shooting, the most. Regarding magazines, I use the same mags with both rifles, and they work great.
