Sako TRG 22 Dark earth and Leupold 8.5 x 25 good ?

So I got the Dark Earth Sako 22 w/ 26 in barrel, harris bipod, Warne 20 mao base and Sako muzzle brake. I picked up Leupold 8.5x 25 MK 4 scope painted it Dark earth and khaki camo along with bipod. Got bout 1k FGGM ammo. Even though I could have gotten a better scope, I feel warm and fuzzy inside. Is this a good setup or worse? or better? No an operator but pretend to be one occasionally.

Thanks, about 1k in scope, could have spent 2.5 on premium European scope, oh well, money saved. Later I will stimulate the economy on another must have toy. Will post pics later this week

Bipod, suppressor or muzzle break. Spare mags, nice case, lots and lots of trigger time, reloading and you should be about good to go.

But then you will want a spotting scope, kestrel, chrono, laser rangefinder etc etc etc etc.

Great choice,
I have had mine for a few weeks and feel "NO" regret at all for spending that kind of money on a rifle.
In the past 3 years I have purchased 6 .308 rifles in search of the perfect one: accuracy, fit, and trigger. With this rifle everything comes together, and without a doubt, I am the weak link when it comes to shooting. The bright side of that is, that I can improve, whereas if you are shooting a rifle that isn't up to the challenge you will never be able to reach your full potential.
There is nothing wrong with the glass you have chosen, because until you get a few thousand rounds down the tube "you" will be the weak link in the package. LOL

I shoot a TRG exclusively and love it. I think you made a great grab. We both know you'll need to upgrade that scope eventually but you have a rifle set for life.

That is a great setup, both rifle & optics. No reason to "upgrade" to anything else as far as scope goes. The MK4 8.5-25 are great glass and will go great with the TRG.
I have several MK4 8.5-25X's & they function very well for me. Hell, buy another rifle or start another project before "upgrading" to different glass.

The Dark Earth is a cool color scheme & I have a spare Leupold MK4 I want to get coated at the custom shop which will serve as motivation to start a new build & have the metal work cerakoted in Dark Earth.

I use the Black Hills 165 and 178. Would like to try out the Southwest ammo as well though.
