It really comes down to handiness. The 20" model is lighter, fits lower in a pack, easier to carry, easier to get cases for, easier to get into/out of your car, and is adequate for 1000 yards.
The 26" model will get better velocity, obviously. Not even "much" velocity - say 100fps (ish), but every bit does help. At 400 yards, won't make a lick of difference, but out past 750 or so, it WILL hold the wind a little better...
The velocity loss is usually worthwhile in a 308, but there will be some.
You'll have to assess your priorities. For me, with a bolt gun, I'll usually choose a longer barrel.
