Can the barrels be replaced on these rifles? A fella at the local gun store told me that they (barrels) can't be replaced? I can't imagine this to be true. I've been considering one of these rifles as they are what I consider to be sold for a fair price. How do you like yours? How's the accuracy? Thanks. Steve.

Yes, the barrels can be replaced. I have never seen any TRG barrels available in the USA. Any barrel blank can be threaded and chambered for the TRG. I'm at 1700+ rounds on my TRG (300WM), and it's still under half MOA. I'll keep shooting it til it goes. Then I'm calling Frank at Bartlein.
Also, you may want to wear those tall, white, boat boots next time you go in that store (or most gun stores) so when you step in "it", you'll be alright!

Hip waders are a must at some stores. I figured that this fella was full of it but I knew that you guys would know for sure. Thanks.

Having worked part-time at a gun store, I have a perspective from the other side of the counter. The BS, it appears, flows both ways.

Oh, heck yeah it does. Probably more so from the customer end. I always thought hunters and shooters were pretty knowledgeable, until I got in the shooting/reloading business. You hear it all.

BJ, that is very sweet! Tell me about the barrel and what you did. I love the bastard brakes!

Yes, I think I remember seeing one here on the Hide that was rebarrelled by GAP. I just can't seem to find the post. It was sometime this year, towards the beginning. In fact, it had GAP's emblem on the barrel.

Rock Creek, GA Precision, Bartlein and others would gladly rebarrel it with whatever rifling/twist/length you wish.

I, too, have worked on the "opposite side of the counter" and still love stepping across to assist persons obtaining the best for their dollar and some people just aren't familiar with particulars. It's probably best to search the internet for the US distributor, quality barrel & gunsmiths and seemingly knowledgeable persons online THEN ask and compare info. Then call the barrel makers & gunsmiths.
