Wondering if anyone could chime in on whether a Sako TRG M10 barrel will fit on a TRG42? Are they M27x1.5?

They are not.
The M10 use a propreitary barrel extension, might be threaded M27x1.5 but even if it is, headspace wont work.
Just get that 42 fitted with a new quality barrel, any gunsmith worth his salt can do it.
