Sako TRG stock options

has anyone put a Sako TRG-22 in a McMillan HTG stock?

i like the value proposition (ie: accuracy for the money) these rifles bring to the table, but i'm more comfortable shooting a rifle in a more traditional stock.

i've shot a Sako TRG-42 and several rifles in AICS's, but it's not for me. sorry.

I don't know that you could really fit the TRG into an HTG properly. The TRG is a fairly tall rifle in terms of trigger to tang.

I've seen the TRG-S/995 in McMillan A5s and the TRG-S stocks, but the trigger height on the -S is significantly different.

Take a look at Kinetic Research Group (KRG).

Just pick up a TRG-S and use it as it comes. It is the same action basically as a TRG-42. You might be able to find a .308 although I've never seen one. You could get one with a .308 bolt face though and rebarrel it. None of them have heavy barrel contours anyway.

Really if you just want a TRG style rifle in .308 but not in a TRG style stock, I would pick up a Sako 85 Varmint in .308. You'd have a set trigger and a double stack mag. That is hard to beat.

they only made those rifles in 30-378 and 338. if yo're paying for ammo and i can borrow your shoulder, i'll be more than happy to pick one up.

No those rifles were made in a wide variety of calibers. I just bought one in 7mmSTW. I've seen them in .270, 30-06, 300WM, Lazzeronis, 6.5x55, Weatherbys and Lapua. Just check gunbroker frequently. But yeah the Sako 85 sounds like a better option for you.
