Unfortunately the new Kahles K624i i purchased was a dud and had to be sent back to Austria for repairs. The only spare scope i had was a 'old school' Leupold Mk4 M3, so it had to do. I lick of Cerakote and i was up and running.
A few days shy of 7 months my Kahles returned. I fitted a KRG chassis and Cerakoted it OD green.
Project complete...

That is a great looking rig. You have got to love the platform!
I love the O.D. cerakote job on that. Very well done.
That color appears just a shade lighter than my factory green trg-22.
You just cant' beat the sexy lines of a trg.
Love the mount, just seems a little tall and forward for the application, no?
It's tall because there's no handguard on top that would normally take up the space. The scope is still the same orientation it would be on an AI rifle. Or any rifle witb a round handguard on top. It looks a little goofy but it does work.
I also lay pretty far forward on the rifle so it doesn't bother me a bit.

Does anyone have more feedback on the KRG chassis? I was thinking of getting one because I like the idea of having a folding stock, and because it would be easier to put an RRS rail on. I haven’t found a good solution for adding a one to the factory stock.

The mag well and ejection port needed to be widened slightly to accommodate the fatter round. The feed lips had to be bent out a little, along with the bolt face opened up to Magnum size.
It feeds flawlessly with the rounds loaded to 2.945" COAL (magazine lenght). I used the PTG '0.130FB' reamer, i believe this will jam factory ammo 10thou. I handload, and this reamer will allow handloaders to set thier own jump within magazine lenght.

Hey Guys, I really want to put a KRG enclosed forend on my TRG-22. I already have their folding buttstock and I would like to have to forend for a number of reasons, mainly to have the ability to add arca rails and such for PRS type shooting.
KRG doesn't specifically make the enclosed forend for the TRG, but I think if I bought the one for the Tikka or maybe the one for the SOTIC rifle, I could make it fit the TRG. As far as I know, the backbone is pretty much the same dimensions between the KRG W-3 for tikka and the factory TRG backbone, so I dont think I'll have any problems sliding it onto the backbone. I'm just trying to figure out securing it to the forend. KRG uses screws through the forend into the back bone. I'm thinking I could just drill and tap the T-slots that hold on the original forend and mount it to those, just like sako did it. Or drill holes into my backbone and mount it the KRG way.
What do you guys think? Am I crazy?

Message massoud on here and see what he thinks, he was very accommodating during my TRG stock for a Tikka T3 project.
That's a tough one. The magwell is in the wrong place on the Tikka version so you'd need the SOTIC version. However it is set up for AICS mags which taper toward the front. The SOTIC version comes with a mount block that goes in the T-slot of the backbone. This should fit a TRG fine.
However, if you notice on the TRG, the screw that goes into the factory mounting blocks from the forend goes all the way through the blocks and into a hole in the backbone. This is because with just the T-slot blocks, the factory TRG forend will slide under recoil.
On our chassis, we have several threaded holes in the backbone that you can run screws from the enclosed forend into and these limit the sliding. On the TRG backbone there are no threaded holes.
If you have a mill you could add two front M4 threaded holes then open up the magwell on our SOTIC enclosed forend in order to use TRG mags and voila.

Here is my basic TRG in .308, it has Steiner m5xi 3-15 for glass, Spuhr 4601 mount, and oem bipod. Straight out of the box it is shooting pretty well. Next upgrade is possibly the m7xi when it becomes available or a 5-25 PMII. I am wondering if anyone on the forum can put me in touch with the member that makes the adjustable cheekweld?
+1 for Terje's solution. The only thing I don't like is the wheels that stick out. That is why I posted the LRI solution. There are pics posted a couple pages back.

I recently upgraded to a Cronus BTR and a direct SPUHR mount. Since I had to strip down the gun to get the picatiny rail off I had the stock cerakoted magpul FDE.
I also installed a Henderson Precision 3” Universal ARCA rail using the BT Industries BT28-N Rail Nuts.

It works faster and looks better than at TRG 22/42. Maybe slightly lighter, as well.

I doubt you will get anyone subscribed to this thread say anything negative about the TRG!
I think it’s worth the money. It’s one of probably two factory rifles that can compete with a custom rifle and be counted on in adverse conditions (the other being AI)
Five or six years ago I think the TRG was even more of a value. That was before the barrel nut and quality custom action and chassis boom. When I bought my TRG I could get it off the shelf and be set. The other option was an AI or wait for a full house custom build.
The TRG was years ahead of the chassis trend while keeping traditional stock ergonomics. KRG took the TRG blueprint and made their Bravo chassis (and SOTIC Rifle)
Now there are lots of great ways to get a great shooting rifle without a full custom build. It’s a great time to be a part of this game.
Plus you can get pre-fit barrels now from KRG that use a Savage style barrel nut, which brings the TRG even more inline with the newer options.
That’s a great point. I have KRG’s barrel nut, wrench and action wrench sitting on my workbench.
My factory 260 barrel has 2500+ rounds on it and still shoots great! Velocity is down a bit, but it’s shooting well.
With results like this still I’m hesitant to pull the barrel for some extra speed gains.
