I tried to locate some reviews of this for use as cheap practice ammo, but was unable to locate anything. I decided to buy a case and take a risk as typically Swiss ammo is pretty good stuff (gp11). Turns out it runs sub moa at 100 yards from my 20" GA Precision. Not bad for $0.50 a round. Pictured a two five round groups of Saltech as well as a group of 168 grain fgmm for comparison.

I bought a couple of boxes and shot some of it yesterday. I only tested to 100 and 200 yds out of my AR10 while sighting in a different scope, but it groups quite nicely. I got 1.5 MOA out of it. A precision rifle with a bipod or bags would certainly do better, since I easily account for a large percentage of inaccuracy there.

I will order more of this!

Necro thread warning ⚠️

Anyone have a BC on this bullet? I'm gonna use it in my PTR-91 to smoke check all the fudds at a silhouette comp. I'll use a .400 G1 unless someone has some more better-er info.

Anything is greatly appreciated.

Through my PTR-91 and measuring via MagnetoSpeed:

ambient/powder temp: 105⁰
Average 2643

I think you are in the ballpark unless you can get access to a LabRadar and an uncluttered range. FNM (Hirtenberger) surplus is .393 G1

Fudds aren’t usually very fast, and they’ll all be behind the shooting line- so they’ll be pretty close too. You should be able to use just a bit of Kentucky windage, and that would right in line with smoke checking Fudds. Unless I’ve read all of this very wrong…

🤣

Fair enough. The target sizes are full sized steel chicken at 200, javelin 300, coyote 400, ram at 500.... from the bench.... 1 minute per shot.

Yeah...... @TheGerman was like "use your G3 amd smoke everyone in 1 minute" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bought some Saltech M80 from SGAmmo. Good price.. but my experience is not great. Plinking with steel. Ok. But seriously inconsistent. Even inconsistent when closing the bolt. Some lighter force, some heavy. All do close though. My accuracy out of a Remington 700 SPS with 20" barrel varied from 2.5MOA to 5MOA.

Also took a few shots out of my 308 Garand but feel its too hot. 4 shots averaged 2904fps.

Some numbers from my Garmin. 25 shots
Average velocity: 2741fps
ES: 108.5
STD Dev : 27.8

I am going to burn it up and reload the brass. Hopefully even the brass is decent.
