Rifle Scopes Savage 10 FCP

Guys - have not posted in awhile, but hoping for some opinions. I just bought a Savage 10 FCP in 308. I am going to buy another Weaver 3-15x30 scope because I think they are pretty nice. I had the same scope on my remington 700 .223 (VTR). I had put medium rings (30 mm) on that rifle. Should I buy the same for the Savage? I am just wondering how the clearance are on those.

In addition that weaver also makes a 4-20x50 any advantages to that scope?

I have a Savage 10fp with a Warne 20 moa base and standard height Badger rings. There is not enough clearance for a butler creek cover, the medium rings should give you enough space to fit a lens cover if you want.
