I have been saving up for a while to upgrade my stock on my savage 10. recently just made a reloading resupply so I am still not close to a new stock. I do need a bipod though. after borrowing a non-notched, non swivel black hawk model for a few months its time for an upgrade. I want to get an Atlas and plan to have the Picatinny rail on a new stock from mounting the bipod. Is there any way that I can get a rail that will replace my two front sling studs on the manufacturer's stock in order to mount an Atlas bipod until I get an upgraded stock? If there is, any suggestions on brands/models that will (without the expertise of a gunsmith) make this project smooth and simple especially on a Savage model 10 manufacturer's stock with two front sling studs?

Hmm.. honestly I do prefer harris because in my mind its cheaper and the standard in my opinion.. they do have all sorts of adapters.. I use a harris bipod that can swivel and find it more than sufficient for the 90 something i spent (i'm only a target shooter by the way).. but it seems you're determined to get atlas so I did a quick google and found something other than Harris on Amazon.. product labeled as "BLACKHAWK! Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter" (in case you found your blackhawk experience positive).. If you don't want that just google variations of "swivel stud picatinny rail adapter".. I'm suggesting to google because there are many options and it sounds like you only need a quick fix... since quick fix just go cheap and easy with out hurting your rifle so you can put the money where it matters.. oh and the blackhawk is made from aluminum.. just fyi in case that bothers you..

I would either run a Harris swivel or the Atlas, but I tend to lean more towards the Harris with a DLOC system instead of the "stud clamp" they send them from the factory with. The Atlas is a great piece of kit, but they are double the price of a Harris and IMO have to much play in the legs when loading up for a shot.
I sold off a lot of mine and kept a few, just to have them in case something broke and I needed a quick solution.

Buy once, cry once.
