I recently bought a brand new savage 10fp-sr chambered in .308. I sighted it in and shot a total of 11 rounds through it and now this morning getting ready to go out and hunt when I chambered my first round, the rifle fired as soon as I locked the bolt handle down. Has anyone had this problem? I have changed nothing on the rifle other than add a scope. I've read problems about the accu trigger causing miss fires when adjusted to light but I don't know what the problem is here since I have changed nothing from the factory set up. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Also the ammo was Remington core-lokt 150gr

Call Savage on Monday, have them send you a prepaid label, and send that f***** back! If you adjust the accutrigger to light, the trigger will block the sear if it trips, unlike what you had happen! A local smith could fix it, out of your pocket, if you choose not to send it back. Did you get it from Gander Mt? They give a years service with the sale...

+1

The accutrigger is designed to prevent accidental discharges, even if it is adjusted too low.

Something is wrong with that fire control group...

Got it online from buds guns since they had the best price on one. I'll call savage and buds tomorrow and get things straight.

Savage will make it right and make it right in a hurry. They have fantastic customer service and care about shooters and hunters. If it were me I would pop the action outta the stock and get the packing grease off the trigger that they send out from the factory to prevent rust and the such. I had so much of that stuff on my target action....after I cleaned it up it really improved the trigger.

But I agree. Contact Savage and let them make it right. Thank God nobody was hurt!
