Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

That's a sweet ass rifle and scope. I always recommend a 338LM as a good beginner rifle for your 1K+ journey. I also really dig those grips on rifles. When you are tired of stalking your prey, you can rest your hand on the shelf. That way you don't have to reach far if you need to make that snap shot. I love the scope too. The Bertrillium-Zantitium coatings make the images so clear, it's almost like being 2 feet away from what you are shooting. You are lucky to get it since I hear the gov overruns are about to run out.

This one will be like a comet hitting the earths atmosphere, it won't last long but damn it will burn bright. If you want to shoot to a mile go to Naval Weapons Station Yorktown and shoot across the river at those empty woods...

Dude, you seriously should do some research. If you actually went to the government's contracting website and searched for scope contractors, you would find Premier Reticles, Schmidt and Bender, Leupold, and a couple others. Countersniper is not one of them. It has been disproved time and again, but they continue to prey on the ignorant. I just hope that the truth continues to permeate the shooting community and they go under.

Counter Sniper scopes are "The worlds finest military optical gunsights" It's true. It says it on the box it comes in.

Just for reference so you know that I am not pulling info out my ass like the Counter Sniper guy.

Sorry for supporting my facts with evidence. If you search for "Dark Ops holdings" or any part of that name, nothing comes up. Neither does anything surface for Counter Sniper. Well, you will get results for the search "counter sniper" but every result deals with a system from Shumar Industries.

The reason your scope was stuck on 4 power is because they all are pieces of garbage. I would assume that "very very few" come back to them. Who the hell would want to put themselves through the agony of crap optics twice? Oh yeah...

Ask him to tell you the government contract number. If they are out in the numbers he implies, there will be one. We don't just open purchase tons of scopes. Sure, SPECWAR/OPS gets what they want, but let's be honest they aren't using counter sniper. We have a couple members that can verify that here and now.

To the OP, your scope is fine so go next to the NWS and bang away at those woods across the river. Even if the owners mind they are no one to worry about...

Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

the guy at countersniper, or any scam artist, will never tell you the truth, only what you want to hear. we have a running joke here. when new people ask about the countersnipers, we (almost) all have agreed to let the next person buy one. but someone usually feels so guilty that they say something. just google countersniper or search this site. trash man, pure garbage. and at the ranges you want to shoot, bad glass is gonna cost you, especially with a 338LM

you will want something better and more durable and its gonna cost you. exepect to pay at a minimum $600ish. for that i think you can get a vortex PST, they have a model thats $800ish too i believe. nightforce will be higher, maybe a leupold mk IV but they have some haters. how much do you have to spend and dude, really consider the offer of a refund on that scope. really really.

Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

Okay, so you're new to target shooting and you buy a .338 Lapua and you want to shoot a mile? You do know that a mile is 1760 yards right?? Do you have idea about all of the variables that factor in to making a 1760 yard shot? I hope you have a shit ton of money cause you're gonna need it to feed that thing trying to shoot at that distance right off the bat! I would suggest selling that .338, throwing the Counter Sniper in the river, and purchasing a good .308 and quality scope. Learn the basics! Start shooting at 100 yards, master the fundamentals. Then and only then start stretching out to longer distances! I'm not trying to be a prick, just trying to pass on a little advice that may save you some money in the long run, help build your confidence, and keep you interested precision shooting!

Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

Quote: "he did offer my full money back".

If it's still on the table, take this offer. With the cash in hand, immediately run away as far and fast as you can. Find a good spot, then dig a hole. Crawl inside with your money. Pull the hole in after you. Stay at least three months while thinking carefully about the next scope you will buy with your hard-earned cash.

Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

If this is a joke I want to get in before the lock goes on this thread, if it is not a joke???????????
Nice rifle, now ask for a full refund on the scope, I am real interested in hearing if they refund your money or they come up with an excuse.
Hang around here for a while and you will learn all that you need to know, or at least get lots of opinions. LOL

Re: savage 110 ba 338 lapua countersniper 4x48x56

Take your irons off your 22 and put them on your 338! Thats my vote. Any one that can knock a lidoffa milk jug is one BMF! Please copy and past your future messages out of some type of word processing program so you can use a spelling and grammar check! DAMN... This has to be a fucking joke. I had to wake my 2 year old up so he could translate this shit for me.
