What factory loads are you guys having the best luck with in terms of reliability? By this I meen what ammo cycles best without sticking issues. I am asking this question for a friend that had to have one because he wanted to get into long range shooting. He bought three boxes of PPU 250 gr and three boxes of HSM 300 gr. He told me he has put six rounds through the rifle just to shoot it using the ppu and had one round fail to fire. He said it looked like the firing pin struck the primer light. Do the PPU rounds have hard primers or is this most likely a problem with the rifle.

I haven't fired any factory rounds just my home rolled but it sounds like it was just a primer issue but you are gonna have to try different ammo to rule out a gun or firing pin problem. Do you reload? I use fed 215m primers. Good luck hope you get it figured out!

I bought two boxes of PPU and a box of Hornady for my new 110 BA to start out before I was ready to reload. I had 2 FTF out of the PPU and stuck EVERY SINGLE Hornady case. Since then, loading my own I've had ZERO problems. In fact, I'm learning a lot, making good progress and having a lot of fun.

I have the same rifle been there done that bought the t-shirt, go with Lapua brass and don't look back. Hornady is too soft and grows too much after being fired in a high pressure chamber like 338 Lapua. I was able to get Hornady handloads to work ok with RL-25 just not the factory Hornady 285gr loads. Even the handloads expanded too much and would require a full length resize after each shot, to hell with that shooting is supposed to be fun : )
