Scott Mcree makes great stocks. I happened to get one in trade a few years ago with plans on dropping my 15 + year old Savage into it if I could get the right center section. Needless to say Scott kept saying he was on it and he would have some soon, well I grew tired of waiting. Nothing against Scott, his business grew and he did relate to me that there were some issues with the Savage LA bolt release, it seems they stick out of the side too far and have some variences over the production years.
I decided to order a block of aluminum and machine my own using my drill press, a first for me.
It took a looong time, but after some finish work and some Mcmillan olive cerakote, I'm pretty happy with it.
