Savage makes 13 models that use the AICS magazine. The magazine prices are much too high and very hard to find. I understand the Ruger magazine works well and is cheaper, but I am not sure which one to order. I have been running everything through the magazine as the rifle is almost impossible to load single shot. So, I am looking for a single shot sled too. I bought the rifle thinking the mag system would be the bees knees and it turns out it is the cats a@@! With 13 models out there, I can't be the only guy with problems.

I have a 110 Tactical in an Oryx chassis and MDT polymer mags work perfectly for me. Can’t use mags when I’m shooting an F Class club match so I use an MK machining sled which also works perfectly. I use the sled nearly all of the time, in matches when training, doing load work ups, zeroing, etc.

I'm sorry, are you saying that AICS magazines are too expensive and hard to find?

I have Savage 110BA in 338 Lapua Magnum.
The original AICS pattern magazine is made by Accurate Mags.
It has worked flawlessly for me.

I also own 2 Savage 10BA rifles originally in 308 Win. that use AICS pattern magazines by Accurate Mags. Those also work flawlessly and better than my MDT metal AICS magazines.

I have several other Savage rifles that are in MDT chassis using AICS pattern magazines.

That’s what I understood the issue to be. Now they aren’t cheap but I always kind of figured if you’re in this game it’s going to cost. I always heard good things about Accurate Mag.
I did forget to mention that the Magpul mags worked well in my 110. They were designed to work with the Remington 700 and clone actions but no issues in my 110. If I needed more mags I can get those locally for $25 give or take a couple $’s. The MDT polymer mags are in the $40 ballpark. Not getting raped prices but not dirt cheap either.

I suppose there are brands that are more expensive than others, Accurate Mags being one of them. You get what you pay for though. But there are plenty of cheaper polymer mags that are better priced and still function well enough. $40 isn't that bad for a well functioning magazine that lasts through years of use.

I failed to say my rifle is a 223. MK Single shot sled warns that some alterations may be necessary to feed 223. Therin lies my problem; I don't want to re-engineer a $35 piece of plastic. $25 Magazines, best deal I found was 3 for $99. Biggest complaint is that when using the Factory Magazine, the round does not feed smoothly into the chamber and sometimes hits the barrel face and that probably changes my CBTO. This is the first Savage 110 that I've had trouble working up a <MOA load.

AND this is the first brand new rifle I've bought in 30 years.

Take a look at EABCO. They usually have BobSleds in stock in multiple caliber options.
